World class musicians arrive to the Cooper Gallery…..it must the Brookestock!

It’s getting groovy in the gallery at The Cooper with the arrival of their latest free exhibition Brookestock.

The fun, fascinating and festival themed display will brighten up the dark winter days with a light hearted look at what it would be like if world class artists flocked to Barnsley to perform.

Visitors will be treated to a vibrant exhibition by top class pop artist and local lad Terry Brookes. On display from Friday, 13 December until Saturday, 7 March it is an incredible array of paintings featuring bands old and new who can be spotted playing in familiar locations in and around the town.

Terry Brookes takes us on a wild adventure to this imaginary gig - a must for music and art fans of all ages.

As well as the far out displays there will also be lots of activities, interactives and artist talks taking place until March.

Lynn Dunning, Group Leader – Arts & Heritage said:

Once again Terry Brookes has shown his incredible talent by creating such an epic exhibition that we are proud to display in the Cooper Gallery. We are huge supporters of local artists and want to showcase their work in any way we can weather that be in the newly renovated cottage and artist studios, in our shop or hanging on the walls of the gallery. The exhibition really is a joy, seeing the biggest names in music at iconic landmarks in our town really will put a huge smile on your face.
