From Sackville Street to the Valley of the Kings: The Art of Harold Jones

Discover the breathtaking and exquisite artwork of Ernest Harold Jones, born in Barnsley in 1877. Artist turned Egyptologist, Harold undertook several excavations in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt in the years leading up to the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. On loan from Carmarthen Museum are his colourful paintings of tomb interiors, skilful drawings of finds and an archive of family material, on display together for the very first time.
