Coinciding with ‘The Art of Printmaking’ exhibition, theCooperGallery, in collaboration with the West Yorkshire Print Workshop, is running a series of printmaking workshops with something for all abilities.
Whether experienced artist, keen amateur or someone just wanting to get creative with the kids, we have a programme lined up just for you.
Artist Master Classes
For budding artists, keen enthusiasts and adults wanting to learn a new creative skill, there are some brilliant artist led master classes:
The Art of drypoint and chine colle with Moira McTague, Thursday 26September, 11am to 3pm. This workshop is aimed at practicing artists and keen enthusiasts who would be interested in an introduction to this fascinating printmaking process and technique. The Art of mono-printing with Cath Brooke, Thursday,24 October, 11am to 3pm.

Free Family ‘drop in’ workshops with Anna Tosney and Karen Stansfield
Make your own prints using different printmaking techniques. Have fun and experience the world of printmaking. Open to all ages and abilities:
- Saturday, 21 September – Anna’s ‘mono-printing’ workshop
- Saturday, 19 October – Karen’s ‘screen-printing’ workshop
- Saturday, 2 November – Karen’s ‘relief printing’ workshop
All family workshops take place 11am to 1pm. These are drop in sessions on a first come first serve basis.

The Cooper Gallery, owned and managed by Barnsley Council, is a vibrant creative art-space in the heart ofBarnsleytown centre.
