Mothers Who Make is a peer support group and creative exchange session for mothers who are artists, every kind of maker welcome, and every kind of mother. The next meeting is on Thursday 27 June at Cooper Gallery.

Kapow! Original Comic Book Art from Dean Ormston and Fiona Stephenson

Award winning comic book artist Dean Ormston (Black Hammer, Judge Dredd, Lucifer, Superman) & artist Fiona Stephenson are two hugely successful, internationally renowned illustrators. They are also born, bred and based in Barnsley. The Cooper Gallery is delighted to bring together a collection of their artwork focusing on the process when creating artwork from script, first sketches to finished art. The exhibition also aims to tell the story of the early beginnings of our favourite comic book Super Heroes to their on-screen counterparts.

Cooper Gallery Art Auction

The Trustees of the Cooper Gallery will be raising money towards the upkeep of the Cooper Gallery Collection by holding an Art Auction and Fundraising event on Wednesday, 5 June. The evening will start at 6:30pm and be hosted by Barnsley poet Ian McMillan and Auctioneer Pierre Maciag.
